Privacy Policy

The short version: your data is yours, we use it only to run Kinvara for you, we never sell it, and we don't do advertising or trackers. Here's the long version.

1.Who this covers

In plain EnglishThis policy covers the Kinvara app, the buyer portal, and the kinvara.dog website.

This policy explains how Kinvara ("we," "us") handles personal information across the Kinvara platform at app.kinvara.dog (including the buyer portal) and this website, kinvara.dog. Questions any time: hello@kinvara.dog.

2.Two kinds of data: yours, and your buyers'

In plain EnglishFor your own account, we're responsible to you. For buyer records you keep in Kinvara, the breeder is in charge of that data — we just store and process it for them.

Breeder account data. When you sign up for Kinvara, we collect and manage your account information directly, and we're responsible to you for it.

Program data breeders store. Breeders use Kinvara to keep records about their contacts and puppy buyers. For that data, the breeder decides what is collected and why; Kinvara stores and processes it on the breeder's behalf and never uses it for our own purposes.

If you're a puppy buyer using a breeder's portal or application form: your information belongs to that breeder's program. For questions about it — or to have it corrected or removed — contact your breeder first; we'll assist them with any request. We never contact buyers for marketing, and we never sell buyer information.

3.What we collect

In plain EnglishWhat you give us to run your program, plus the minimum technical data needed to keep the lights on.

Account information — your name, email address, program/kennel name, and login credentials (passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text).
Program content — everything you enter or upload: dogs, pedigrees, litters, health and temperament records, contacts and buyer details, waitlists, documents, contracts and signatures, photos, messages, and website content.
Email intake — if you connect a mailbox, we retrieve messages from it solely to display and organize them in your account.
Payment records — invoices and payment statuses. Card and bank details are handled by the payment processor (Square) and never touch Kinvara's servers.
Technical data — server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) and in-app activity needed for security, debugging, and keeping the Service running.
Early-access and contact requests — the name and email you submit on kinvara.dog so we can respond.

4.How we use it

In plain EnglishTo run Kinvara for you. That's it. No ads, no selling, no data mining.

We use personal information only to:

provide, secure, back up, and improve the Service;
respond to support requests and communicate about your account (invoices, service notices, and similar);
comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, share it with advertisers or data brokers, use it to train AI models, or use buyer data for anything other than serving the breeder it belongs to.

5.Where your data lives

In plain EnglishReputable, industry-standard cloud providers in the United States — the same ones trusted by companies far bigger than us.

Kinvara runs on established cloud infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

Supabase — database and file storage (managed PostgreSQL, SOC 2 audited);
Vercel — web application and website hosting;
Render — application server hosting;
Cloudflare — DNS and email routing for kinvara.dog;
Square — payment processing (subscription billing, and breeders' own buyer payments through their own Square accounts).

Data is processed in the United States. We don't share personal information with anyone else except these processors, a successor in a business transfer (with your protections intact), or where the law requires it.

6.Cookies and local storage

In plain EnglishOnly what's needed to keep you signed in. No advertising trackers, anywhere.

The app uses essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. The kinvara.dog marketing site sets no advertising or analytics trackers. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on any Kinvara property.

7.Security

In plain EnglishEncryption in transit, isolated programs, least-privilege access — and honesty if anything ever goes wrong.

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
Every breeding program is isolated with database-level row security — one program can never read another's data.
Passwords are hashed; access to production systems is restricted.
Customer data is routinely backed up.

No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you promptly and tell you plainly what happened and what we're doing about it.

8.How long we keep data

In plain EnglishAs long as your account is active. Sixty days after it closes, it's deleted.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. After an account is cancelled or closed, data is retained for 60 days (so you can reactivate or export), then deleted from active systems; residual copies may persist in routine backups until those cycle out. You can request earlier deletion, and you can export your data at any time.

9.Your rights

In plain EnglishAsk us anything about your data — see it, fix it, export it, delete it. One email does it.

Wherever you live, we extend the same rights to everyone: you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, correct it, export it, restrict its use, or delete it. Email hello@kinvara.dog and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're a puppy buyer, we may route your request through your breeder, since the data belongs to their program.

10.Children

Kinvara is a business tool for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 18 as an account holder). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

11.Changes to this policy

In plain EnglishIf we change how we handle your data in a way that matters, we'll tell you first.

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify account holders by email or in the app before the changes take effect, and we'll update the date at the top. Minor clarifications may be posted without notice.
